The
firm Smith & Glover Lawyers have been in existence since
February 1998. It is a small to medium legal firm with offices
in Wynyard and Smithton in far north west Tasmania. When the
firm came into existence it was an amalgamation of the firm of
Jonathan Smith & Co which commenced in Smithton in 1982 and
of the practice of Rod Glover in his Wynyard office where
he has practiced since 1992.
The
practices in the Wynyard and Smithton office have similarities
in that they service a very general range of legal work arising
out of the needs of clients in this region. Both offices hold
significant skills in dealing with large and complex farming
transactions and particularly the complexities of dealing with
all aspects of dairy farm transactions.
The firm also deals extensively in commercial fishing matters including
all transactional aspects, licensing, leasing and statutory compliance
matters. Both the Wynyard and the Smithton offices have extensive conveyancing
practices with all associated legal work.
|
Given
the extensive experience of the partners of Smith & Glover
Lawyers the firm has developed a number of specialty skills which
compliment the general practice of both the Wynyard and the Smithton
offices.
Specifically the partners hold skills in personal injuries and workers
compensation case, family law matters, will and probates, Court of Petty
Sessions, planning law, small and large civil claims, negligence claims,
criminal injuries compensation claims as well as extensive knowledge
and experience in the transacting of businesses, lease, licences and
other commercial agreements. Both partners have a large client base including
many of the major businesses and companies operating in the region.
The
firm provides extensive advice and services that you would
expect that a general practice in a regional area would provide.
The firm has the capacity and experience to provide many more
specialised legal services which are more commonly associated
with larger legal firms in bigger population centres.
